Animals and teaching has been my passion since childhood. I got my first taste of teaching quite young when I assisted in horseback riding sessions. Then, in my early twenties while working to help developmentally disabled young adults live full and productive lives. I also taught beginning dog training classes at PetSmart and through those classes, I learned what an impact effective training can have on the lives of dogs and their human families. I was humbled by the dedication of my students and by the opportunity to help improve their lives through sharing my knowledge. Following PetSmart, I worked as a Veterinary Technician for 8 years in day practice, emergency, Ophthalmology, and the processing of veterinary insurance claims.
Jill and I have a large family comprised up of 3 dogs, 2 cats and a horse. I have always been passionate about dog training and can’t wait to share that passion with you!
Jill Hardy: Cinematographer, Photographer & Assistant Trainer
Jill has a degree in Cinematography with over 15 years experience filming and editing. She is an invaluable part of the Training Spot team and takes amazing photos of dogs (and cats). Her work is displayed throughout the website as well as in the homes of our clients. I am blessed to call her my partner and my wife.
I have been in love with Vizslas since I met my first one while working as an ER veterinary technician. I had my heart set on adopting one from Utah / Idaho Vizsla Rescue and 4 years after my initial application, Fred came into my life. He was picked up as a stray by West Valley Humane Society, who called the Vizsla rescue and the rest is history. He is goofy, endearing, and I couldn’t imagine my life without him.
Emmy arrived on the scene just this in August 2015, popping up on on social media in need of a new home. Her previous family of many years had more than their fair share of tragedy, and ultimately made the agonizing decision to relinquish her the the Vizsla rescue. Eight hours after discovering Emmy on social media, this senior girl was in our lives for good. She just turned 13 years young this year and gives The Golden Girls a run for their money.
We are just getting to know this crazy fellow! He is a purebred German Shepherd from Crooked Creek Ranch in Missouri. He is a joy to be around and as smart as they come. I’m so glad he came into my life when he did. Professionally and personally I couldn’t have picked a better dude. We are already planning to get another one!
